Dave is a General Partner of Thomas Weisel Venture Partners. He co-founded TWVP in 2000 and focuses on investments in software and Internet services companies. While at TWVP, Dave has led the firm's investments in Aligo (acquired by Corrigo), Arbor Networks, Exit41, Medsphere, and Pivia (acquired by Swan Labs, then F5).
Prior to founding TWVP, Dave was a Partner in Investment Banking at Thomas Weisel Partners in San Francisco, working with emerging technology companies. Before joining TWP, he was a Senior Managing Director and head of the Software and Internet Group in Investment Banking at NationsBanc Montgomery Securities. While an investment banker, Dave's clients included, among others, Hotels.com, InfoSpace, Open Text, Overture Services, Preview Travel (Travelocity), Real Networks, Ticketmaster Online-Citysearch and Yahoo! Prior to Montgomery, he was an investment banker at Goldman, Sachs & Co.
Dave holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Finance from the University of Utah. In his free time, Dave enjoys running, cycling, playing golf and skiing with his wife and four children.
